Imagine that you’re at Starbucks, you’ve been waiting in line for 15 minutes, and it looks like you’ll be in line at least another 15 before you even get to order. Suddenly, someone rushes in the door, walks to the front, grabs a drink without even paying, and rushes back out the door. What on earth just happened?
It turns out that Starbucks owns an app that lets you easily order ahead and skip the line. And in this tutorial, we will teach you how to order ahead with the Starbucks app like a pro and never have to wait in line for your coffee again.
Step by Step:
First thing’s first, you have to download the app, which can be done be searching “Starbucks app” in either the Google or Apple App stores. Once downloaded, you can either login with a preexisting Starbucks account (same thing as a rewards account) or make a new one. Once logged in, click on the Order icon at the bottom of the screen.
You will then be asked to share your location. This will allow Starbucks to find the nearest store and take you there.
After the popup fades, you will be in the Order Menu, which will allow you to scroll through the various categories of drinks and food, selecting whatever your heart desires.
Click on your category of choice, and then click on your item of choice. This will bring you to a page describing your coffee or food.
Scroll down and you will see a portion of the page that allows you to customize your drink. You can choose the size, add-ins, types of milk, and much more!
You can even see nutrition and allergen information! Once finished, click the floating button that says “Add to order.”
If desired, you can keep adding more items. If finished, click the shopping bag in the lower right-hand corner. You will then be asked to confirm your store.
After confirming your store's location, you will be taken to the
Review Order page where you can choose to either edit your order or checkout and pay online.
You can also see in the corner of this picture how long it will take me to get to
this Starbucks by car, which is useful when timing when to leave.
Checkout, and you’re done! Now you can be that person strolling to the front of the line and picking your coffee without having to wait. No longer do you have to live in mediocrity; enjoy!
